An in-depth study of the conference and events industry is being carried out by London venue ExCeL, which will be launched at meetings, conference and events exhibition IMEX in Frankfurt during May 2009.

The report will analyse current and future trends within the UK conference and event market, with a specific focus on London. It will investigate a cross section of the industry through quantitative and qualitative research supported with comment and examples from leading industry figures.

“There is a need for a report that fully analyses the current C&E [conference and events] industry, which will appeal to both UK and European audiences,” said James Rees, ExCeL’s head of conference and events sales. “It will also allow us to make some sound predictions about the next few years, which will be challenging in the current economic climate and exciting in the run up to the Olympics in 2012, and the opportunities this will bring to London and the rest of the UK.”
