UK conference centre owner, Cavendish Conference Venues has announced that it will be opening its fifth venue in January 2009 – The Hallam Conference Centre, Hallam Street, London.
The magnificent Edwardian venue is undergoing a rejuvenation programme that will see it restored to its former glory. The refurbishment of the listed features on both the inside and outside of the building is complemented by Cavendish Conference Venues’ comprehensive fit-out of the latest conference facilities and audio visual presentation technology.
Encompassing seven individual areas, all with natural light and air conditioning, The Hallam Conference Centre can easily accommodate delegate numbers from three to 350. Accessibility and location are ideal and, as well being conveniently located between Great Portland Street and Oxford Circus underground stations.

The Hallam: Edwardian elegance for
conference venues owners
At the heart of the building, which dates back to 1913, is The Council Chamber on the first floor. Its double height ceiling and over hanging balconies evoke a feel of a bygone age. The Regent Suite on the ground floor can be used with The Council Chamber for registration, catering and exhibition requirements and is also suitable for sit down lunches for up to 130 or for stand up fork buffets for 200. The Marylebone, The Euston, The Oxford and the Warren Suites individually or combined offer a range of flexible configurations to conference organisers enabling the space to be tailored to their exact requirements.
On the lower ground floor The Hallam Café is being created to provide an area for the venue’s clients using the smaller rooms to utilise as a space to graze, dine or relax. This area will feature comfortable contemporary lounge style seating with free internet, wi-fi and television facilities in addition to a spacious dining zone. As with all Cavendish venues the catering is provided by award-winning food experts, with an unrivalled range of organic and fair-trade options on the menu.
The Hallam will continue Cavendish Conference Venue’s commitment to reducing the conference industries carbon footprint. Cavendish Conference Venues is the only venue group in London to be awarded a ‘Green Mark’* and every effort has been made to ensure The Hallam is one of the greenest conference centres in London.
Cavendish Conference Venues director, Tom Mayers, said: “The Hallam is a splendid building steeped in history. It will complement our growing portfolio of venues, all of which have their own identity and unique characteristics. The space and location certainly meet our requirements. Combine this with our ability and knowledge to design and equip a conference centre which exceeds our customers’ expectations and we are confident The Hallam will be in demand among conference organisers looking for unusual and unique London venues.”
